About project work -----By Suresh Raj Bhattarai

Explicitly mentioning one mini project for software engineering
subject makes the teacher and students in confusion that whether the
other projects be done or not. The teachers and students believe that
if the other subjects don't mention the mini project explicitly, then
they think that the mini project for others subjects like DBMS, Web
Technology, JAVA progamming etc is not mandatory. right? In my option,
mini project should either be explicitly mentioned in all the subjects
which require mini projects or it should not be mentioned explicitly
in only one subject.

We all know that project work is very much essential for continuing
the career in the software development companies. Without it, no one
is going to hire. If hired then that graduate is not paid much. Here
in th job market, any personnel manager doesn't want to provide
training and development to the employees. But rather they want cream
product who is already fit and fine in his/her job. That means the job
market is very competitive. The institution also needs to make its
students competitive so that they become salable in the job market.
For this a conducive environment has to be created to make them
competitive advantageous. No one should take the education sector as
only business.

By just scoring CGPA above 3.5 or even 3.8 or 3.9 in the exam, no one
becomes perfect in the practical world unless he/she has done project
work. The project work for the major subjects should be made
mandatory. We as BIM graduates also see flaws in mini projects
conducted by various institutions.

And also the major problem lies behind the regular monitoring by the
University itself. It's not only that University should publish the
exam routine in the noticeboard, held exam and publish result, but
University should also focus on each and every process, which has to
be monitored regularly.

I agree with the Suresh opinion,

Project for each computer related subject should be explicitly mentioned by
the University as mandatory. Subject like JAVA, AI, DBMS, C++, etc are
basically practical oriented rather mere theory based. I think Colleges
should manage all the infrastructure and resources to perform such project
successfully.

I think practical marks(20 marks) for these subjects are assigned for
this(project ) purpose however colleges and teachers have been misusing the
meaning of practical 20 marks.

Yeh really sharad, I fully agree with your opinion..
BIM college are now misuse the project meaning.
The individual practical marks(20 marks) assigned for each subjects are not applied by college and teacher which really makes depress to all students.--Anil Dharel BIM 6th semester PRIME COLLEGE

yeah, very truly said, it's the reason why we have such a high score
in BIM.
i dont' think TU has any interest in monitoring it's colleges, and i
also think it can't with it's existing resources.
so it's all up to the students, one thing that TU can do is that
induce the interest of students to involve in such mini projects,
for this it can organize some seminars showing the mini projects of
BIM students that are really implemented in some firms.

Although it's difficult, either TU or any other third party can
organize the some-competition to encourage students to compete between
each-other, encourage them to put more efforts thereby refining them.

i'm very glad to see initiative to bring conscious in BIM, keep on the
good work!!.

Dear Dipesh,

Neither the BIM colleges are interested to organize such events like
software competition among BIM among themselves not the any software company
would be.
Thats why we have to do somethig in thing...We BIM students (Graduated or
Running batch) should do something.

Regards
Sharad

Dear deepesh & sharad,
Its all of our major concern, we all know that TU don't think about project and software contest, so harmony of crack from all BIM College could do it.
So what types of project and contest we can do?
I have thinking that competition like web contest and Web workshop can be conduct.

I needed the micro-syllabus of the course. I surfed through several web pages by Tribhuvan University and websites of other private colleges.

Nobody seems to hold the micro syllabus - everyone is hosting the course titles offered, under the name "Syllabus".

Some help? And, where did the guy go who made those websites?
